SOMETHING is wrong.....
Question: Hey everyone. I am new on this website, but so far I like it a lot!!!! Anyway, I am really worried about my chinchilla. He has hardly pooped for two days, and he didn't drink or eat at all last night or today. He also isn't moving around that well and his back legs seem very stiff. I am thinking it is constapation, but I don't know what to do! Is it a serious problem? Should I call a vet? Will he get through it on his own? Is there something special I should be feeding him? PLEASE help me, i am scared and have no idea what to do Crystal Answer: Definately take him to a vet immediately! He could be blocked.. if not treated immediately he may not make it.. Answer: I agree .. please take him to a vet and let us know how he's doing. Answer: The vet is the best thing to do for him ... I hope all will be okay Answer: Everyone I have very sad news. When we figured out something was wrong it was after hours for all the vets, we also couldn't find a vet in our area who cared for chinchillas. We called our friend (who is a vet) but she lives in Montana and couldn't give us any advice. So the next morning we finally found a vet who cared for chinchillas and when we went back to check on Skittles (our chinchilla) we found that he was dead. I am heart broken . I know I should have found a vet that treated chinchillas before hand, just in case. But of course no one ever expects these things to happen. We all miss him so much. The house seems so empty without him here making his familiar sounds and greeting us each day. I know that no one in my family will ever forget him!!! Answer: I'm so sorry Crystal.. Answer: I am so sorry for your loss. Answer: Crystal, I'm sorry to hear about your chins passing. They give us so many laughs and smiles, they do become part of the family. where do you live? Perhaps someone can suggest a vet in case you have other chins or decide to get another in the future. Answer: I'm very sorry for your loss, Constpation is a very tricking thing, and most of the time you dont know until its to late,. My prays go out to you Answer: Thank you so much everyone. You all really do make me feel better. Thanks for taking the time to write! o, and I live in South Lake Tahoe, CA. I'm sure there has to be at least one vet up here that treats chinnies....???
