Concerned

Question:
Yesterday, I got Meeko fixed. It has been a long wait, since it's been 2 months to get that appointment. Busy vet. I won't take him to the other one, I just don't trust her. Anyways, everything went fine. The vet's assistant loves him, cause he's such a snuggle bug and the drugs make him even MORE snuggly. The vet said that he wasn't over weight but that he was a "huge" cat and will never way 7lbs.
But that's not even the concern. He's great.
Pickles won't come out. It's like I brought him home for the first time all over again. She was hiding out under the bed yesterday. I tried to coax her out and she did come out for a minute but then ran off again. This morning I woke up and she was sitting beside me on the pillow hissing at Meeko who was sitting at my neck level. I'm possitive if I'd woken up any later I might be taking a trip to the hospital this morning.
So, broke that up. Snuggled with Pickles and then opened the bathroom door so she could go under the tub (more space) and I just put some food and water in there and shut the door. So hopefully, she'll come out soon.

Answer:
Meeko probably smells of the vet and chemicals. Plus (no disrespect to Pickles) cats can sometimes not be too bright - perhaps she kind of forgot about him now she has to get used to a new cat all over again? Give it time, I'm sure eveything will work out.

Answer:
I half wonder if she was glad he was gone and pissed that he came back..

Answer:
That's quite normal.. I would take something that smells like you (a t-shirt that you wore all day maybe) and rub them both with it.. When they smell similar again it will all be back to normal.. usually. My cats have never done that but come to think of it, since they are brothers they always go together to the Vet (even when they were neutered)..
Let me know if it works.. I have only heard of this but never had to try it.

Answer:
Sue,
When I got home today I picked up my girl Pickles for some pets and when I set her down by Meeko she hissed at him. So I took off my little indoor Adidas coat and rubbed it all over her first then all over him and not a hiss since. I even picked her up and set her down in front of him and nothing. He got close enough to sniff at her even.
I would say it worked! Thanks!

Answer:
Yay! I'm glad I could be of some help!
