Question
Question: I have a question, I read somewhere that some breeders mix there pellets with Calf Manna all the time instead of just for pregnant or lactating females. Is this a good idea? Answer: Yes, some breeders do that. However, I have heard that some breeders have had problems with kits being too big OR small after giving calf manna during pregnancy. I have not heard anything bad about giving it to the female after birth (while lactating). Personally, I feel that feeding calf manna to non-reproducing chins is too much protein. Excess protein can affect the kidneys long-term. Answer: A good quality pellet and hay is really all they need. Calf Manna does provide more protein than they need. Answer: I would be too worried to use it. I just gave my chin mom's chewable calcium pill, very tiny peace every other day for two weeks. Copyright © 2007 - 2008 www.tendlife.com
