Cat trouble

Question:
Well my cat Cali will not lift her tail. It's been about 4 days. She's fixed. She's still eating properly and drinking properly. No worms and I have checked her bum and everything looks ok. We have checked to make sure the tail is not broken and its not she lifted it today momentarily we have felt for any breaks she doesn't get mad and we feel nothing out of the ordinary. She does seem a little lethargic not her usual energetic self but she still goes outside and does her thing. I am going to be taking her to the vet within a few days waiting on an appt. I was wondering if anyone hd any ideas as to why she is doing this..

Answer:
She may just be depresses about something. I've had my cat do that before for a couple days...it was right after one of my dogs had puppies, I think she was just in a bad mood.

Answer:
I forgot to mention she brought in a semi dead bird last week. Her second one. She knows how to open the basement window and get in and out,it's a sliding window and if its not locked she just slides it open with her paw and goes in and out as she pleases. ( i live in the basement of a house)She climbs the tree beside the house and sleeps on the roof, sits there, plays there and also jumps from the roof to the garage roof. She loves to be up high. I am kinda worried she got something from the bird maybe?

Answer:
Hmm I'm not sure. I would just keep an eye on her, her being lethargic would worry me more than not lifting her tail.

Answer:
I know that my sister's cat stopped lifting her tail for awhile, and at first they thought it was paralyzed! However, she came fine later, so all was good!
I think it's a good idea just to keep an eye on her and wait for that vet's appointment. I'm sure if she gets worse (more lethargic, or shows other symptoms) the vet will see her earlier!

Answer:
Well she seems better more energetic. I've been keeping an eye on her. still haven't gone to the vet. I am less worried now since she seems back to her normal self. I guess it must be a case of the kitty blues. She came up to me outside yesterday and I gave her some pets and she lifted her tail up seemed happy. Took her for a walk...3 cats Spooky,Maggie and Cali. We walk up the street and they follow us all the way up and all the way back. We do this just about everynight with them give them some more excercise and a change of scenery seeing as they don't go far from the house when they are outside by themselves. They are smart and know to stick around. Cali likes to stick behind and trot. Thats what she did. Maggie and Spooky run ahead find a spot and roll around on the ground till we catch up and then they take off again climb the tree thats at the end of the street they all run and hide in the bushes and then we go back home. Anyway Cali was fine for all that, where as a few days ago we couldn't get her to go or we just couldn't find her she was hiding out somewhere.

Answer:
I am glad to hear she is doing better.

Answer:
That's great Cali seems to be doing better!

Answer:
I, too, am glad that she's feeling better! These things seem to cause us such stress, don't they?? It's always nice that you can come here and share your fears and not have people think you're an idiot for being worried about something like your cat not lifting her tail
