cats tail
Question: i have question. I have 2 cats, Simon and Molly. They are both indoor cats and have NEVER been outside. My one cat Molly has a tail that is as hue as a skunk..lol..but the past week i ve noticed her tail is 5 times smaller and when i looked at it yesterday the end is bald and had no hair and it s kinda wet not pussy just like a liquid . Her tail is starting to look like a rats tail. Im very concerned for her. Has anyone ever had this happen to their cat? And the other thing is i have a roomate who has a cat who wonders outside all the time( which i hate) could it be that that cat got fleas and this is what is causing this on my cat? My cats have never had fleas and i think they may have them now i am royaly Peed off. Any Advice Answer: Have you noticed your cat licking her tail excessively? It could be caused by fleas or some type of allergy (environmental or food related).. Have you checked for any evidence of fleas? If not, get a flea comb and comb the area near the lower back near the base of the tail.. if you see flea dirt then you'll need to treat for that. Are your cats vaccinated? If not, all the cats (including your roommates cat) need to be vaccinated.. even though your cats are indoor cats you can bring air-borne viruses into the home on your shoes & clothes... as well they can pick up something from your roommates roaming cat. If it was my cat, I'd be taking her to see the Vet asap to find out the cause and get treatment before it gets alot worse. Answer: It could also be hyperesthesia. It's not very common but there is a cat I know of with the same symptoms diagnosed with hyperesthesia. I would also advise a vet visit. Answer: I had never heard of hyperesthesia.. I just read up on it.. interesting. Copyright © 2007 - 2008 www.tendlife.com
