We got a sphynx cat at work the other day.. His name is Max.
He reminds me of an alien. Since we are quite short of cage space at this time, he spent the last 3 days in a cage near my office so we became friends... I don't think he's an alien anymore... He kinda grows on ya!
Did you know that Sphnyx cats originated in Ontario in the late 60's?
Who in their right mind would think breeding an hairless cat in a country this cold would be a good idea!
I jokingly call him the Brazilian cat because he's a hairless pussy..

One of my co-workers may adopt him.. she's going to foster him first to see how he fits in with her other pets.
There's a few purebred cats that I'd want (if & when I was ready for another cat at that time) but this isn't the breed for me. He's kind of cool though.. isn't he? We recently had a white Devon Rex at the shelter as well..

My co-worker did take him home but I don't work directly with her so I'll have to ask her how he's fitting in next time I see her..

I saw her today & Max is fitting in very well! She has 2 other cats whom he adores (and they are tolerating the newcomer)... she's looking to get him a sweater to keep him warm until summer.. How cute is that!
