well since Wooki doesnt want to get along with Isabella right now. Im thinking of switching their cages. put him in hers and put her and the baby in his. Id like to give them just a little more room anyway. Isabella seems as if she doesnt have the room to go anywhere.. (she does but since its just a maternity cage it is small but still big enough for one chin.) Im hoping that will work. or maybe put him in a bigger cage and see if that will do any different.. since it will be a nuetral cage. they got along great before she beat him up when she was almost ready to have her baby.

Hi Pam,
I'm not expert but I did hear of rearranging the cages while introducing two chins. So I don't see what could go wrong. I did this with Calvin and Romeo when I was introducing them and it helped them recognize eachothers scent. HTH a bit and best of luck with reuniting them!

thanks guys.. Wooki didnt have a problem with her before.. Im wondering if he just has hurt feelings towards her for the beating he took... or if maybe he wants to mate?!?! she shouldnt be in heat yet should she? Gypsy is only 3 weeks. she still has at least another week or 2 right????

I rearrange cages at least once a month .. usually twice. It keeps the chinchillas interested in their surroundings, and gets them (somewhat) used to each others' scents.
I think it's a good idea whether you're introducing or not!

yeah.. I have to rearange the toys too.. once I notice they arent paying any attention to them.. I move them.. and yes they think that they are getting brand new toys.. even tho they are already chewed on.. hehe..
