Ordering new ledges
Question: I found really nice ledges from Susan Leonetti and will be ordering 6 of them. I currently have leap n' ledges and sleep n' ledges in the cages. The leap n' ledges are not sturdy and have a tendency to "spin" after chinnies jump off of them. The sleep n' ledges are a bit better but don't last long because they are not that thick. These ledges are 1/2" thick and look wonderful. The best part is all the money Susan obtains from her items go towards adopting rescue chinnies. Here is the link: http://www.azchins.com/Products/Ledge.htm Answer: hey thats a pretty cool site,,she has alot to sell,,those ledges look alot more sturdier,,although I do ahve a leap n ledgs and mine doesn;t budge at all Answer: I make my own ledges out of pine shelving that I find at the hardware store. I pay roughly $10 for a shelf and cut it into 4 ledges. I attache them to the cage with a special screw that screws on one end and takes wingnuts and washers on the other. They work really well and the girls love their shelving. The nice thing is that I can make the ledges as big or as small and I want Answer: Sophie, your ledges sound very nice. I guess I am too lazy to make my own ledges. Answer: I dont have the patients to make my own ledges either. (or I guess you could just call me lazy lol) those look good.. and are a good price for them too. I bought a leap n ledge from the pet store for around 5.50 hmmmm Ill have to think about getting some of those. Answer: I will post feedback about them as soon as I receive them. Pam, it is good to know I am not the only one that is lazy. My husband is extremely handy but he doesn't have a lot of spare time and I know it would take him awhile to focus on getting something like that done. Yes, it would save me money but I would only get frustrated wondering when he would accomplish the project. Not only that, I feel good knowing my money is going towards a good cause. Answer: I wonder if anyone sells ledges like that in Canada. hmmmm maybe I can start something Answer: Sophie, that is a good idea. I think you would have good responses from it. Answer: sophie I make all my own shelves and ledges....as you said a piece of pine and a litttle screw with a washer and nut at the other end.................i do the same with branches for the chinnies cages.....apple tree branches ect..............takes only a few minutes to make Answer: I make my own also. It's really easy and a lot cheeper. I make them all different sizes and they work great. Copyright © 2007 - 2008 www.tendlife.com
