Question:
Hubby and I removed our first ear tag from one of the chinnies yesterday. Hubby is so awesome! I held Danny while he took a pair of needle nose pliers and a pair of regular pliers and managed to open the ear tag so he could slide it out of the hole. Danny was such a good boy and didn't squirm even once (which helped a great deal). Danny has had the ear tag since I adopted him but something must have gotten in the hole and the area surrounding the ear tag was swollen. Hubby cleaned the hole afterwards with tea tree oil and a lot of dried blood surfaced so it was good we took it out.

Denise.. can you take a picture of his ear of the after the ear tag?? 2 of my chins have holes in their ears.. and it would be nice if I could compare it to see if its the same type of hole.. or if it was maybe a tussle with another chin.. lol

Pam, I can't see the hole today because there is scar tissue. I have to apply a sea salt solution to his ear to draw whatever is in there, out.
Brandy, any chinchilla that is showed, needs to have an ear tag as identification.
