Oh, the humanity of it all!
Question: My oldest and most prissy chinchilla, Delilah, had her first experience with me grooming her tonight with "the comb". I have never bothered to groom her because she tends to get her own way and ever since she became a mother, her attitude has changed and she prefers to be left alone and do as she pleases. Her coat has been looking a bit rough because of the season so I said, "To heck with it, she is getting groomed". She didn't make a peep as I groomed her but I could tell she was horrified at what I was doing. After I put her back in the cage she scampered onto the shelf in the cage and pouted. If she could talk I know she would be saying, "Did she just? If I would have known better I think she just groomed me"!! Answer: LOL I love the look they give us some times. I swear its like they can tell us exactly what they think of us by the look in there eyes lol. Answer: No matter how much they loathe being groomed, their coats look so much better after I am done. I remove so much dead fur with this comb, it is unreal. I was taught by ranchers how to groom but I don't follow their every move and of course I am more gentle. Every rancher has their own technique and some are more rough than others. I learned from a rancher who has been in the business for ages and he was so gentle when he was showing us how to groom. It was very touching to see such an oldtimer being so gentle with the chins. Answer: i have never combed any of my chins and sally could sure use a nice combing as her fur is just starting to look great again since her hair raising experience on the street.............she has one big clump of hair whihc is about to fall out..but she is not one to sit still at the hairdresser.............. Answer: Heidi, there are ways in which to hold them where they don't move much. Trust me, if I was able to groom Delilah without a fight, anyone can groom their chinnie. Answer: Denise that would have been funny to see the look she gave you. hehe I would love to get some tips from you when we meet. Answer: Heh heh, chins have such an immense sense of dignity, & I guess the brushing goes against it!! Cub would probably spray the comb so I don't bother. Answer: lol Neuro!!! that would be icky to comb thru her fur..hehe Copyright © 2007 - 2008 www.tendlife.com
