Good Kitten Food?
Question: Hey guys, I am planning ahead and looking for a good quality kitten food. I noticed that Innova doesn't make one but recommends their regular cat food for kittens as well. That doesn't seem right to me. Anyone have suggestions? Answer: I would reccomend Solid Gold, it's for all life stages Answer: We fed our guys Nutrience Kitten when they were little. Everybody did well on it, even Artemis. It wasn't until he went on the adult version that his pooh problem started. All our kittens were really playful, didn't have a lot of eye goopies, and had nice shiny coats. Answer: Can anyone tell me more about foods "for all life stages"?? I don't really get it, how do they make up for the extra protein and fat that growing kittens need? Answer: I raised one of my kittens on Innova. There is plenty of fat (20%)and protein(36%) in it for growing kittens....they do recommend free feeding it to growing kittens though. Growing kittens need more calories than adults therefore they will consume more food and thus more protein and fat. Hope that makes sense. Answer: P.S. Adult cats eat less of the high quality foods...because many of them are nutrient dense and contain higher amounts of protein and fat (many of the "all life stages" formulas) which are suitable for young kittens if fed in the proper amounts. Answer: Thanks Opokki! I have my adult cats on Innova Lite right now and they are doing great. If I don't find anything at my *new favorite pet store* (The Barking Lot), I will probably just get the regular Innova. Answer: What Opokki said!! There is no need to switch to a lesser quality brand just to get "kitten" food. Copyright © 2007 - 2008 www.tendlife.com
