Welcome to www.tendlife.com !!!

This is ridiculous! Now I've seen it all..

Question:
Check this out! http://cgi.ebay.com/ws/eBayISAPI.dll...category=31 7
I can't get over this. Auctioning off studding fees for a rescue chin! What will they think of next, lol? I don't see any bidders yet...I wonder why.
Would this be considered pimping out the poor little fellow?

Answer:
I saw that the other day Poor little guy - he looks awfully sweet.
Sounds to me like this person has no idea about carefully & properly introducing chinchillas! I don't think this kind of auction should be allowed on EBay

lol Lisa.. this is what it said at the bottom.. hehe its not even a picture of his chinchilla... sounds like a big scam to me!!
**At the time of this posting, we did not have any photos of Squee. The photo on this auction is to show you the color/pattern/size that Squee is. The photo is NOT the chinchilla we will be using for stud, but it looks practically identical.**
who in their right mind would even THINK to do this???
like you said Lisa.. if they knew how to introduce a chinchilla then they would know first of all that its NOT that easy to do!!! and if someone else has a chinchilla they want to breed and thinks its that easy.. then they need to not have a chinchilla!! or get more info on owning one.

Answer:
I didn't even know you could do stud breeding with chins, I figured that it was too dangerous to the males unless it was chins who knew each other in pairs or breeding runs.

Answer:
Well it could be a scam. If you let two unfamiliar chins out in the same area there will probably be some humping and squabbling going on. And the person who bids probably doesn't know enough about chins to know that humping isn't always going to result in babies since humping can be dominance issues as well.
So they pay the money, the seller lets the two chins out in the same area, hopefully Squee humps the female a few times for dominance then the seller can say that they did the deed and the female will have babies.

Answer:
That is truly pathetic. Diana, I think the possibility of a scam is a good one. If anyone is ignorant enough to fall for something like that, they deserve to get burned.

Answer:
Yeah, they deserve a good beating. Poor chins. If you don't properly introduce a breeding pair you are risking serious injury or death. Also, breeding will not occur right away, except in few instances. So you keep your female with this rescue chin for two years if necessary? Food costs are going to be more than $25 for that time, lol. Maybe this person should be emailed and told off..?

Answer:
Stud fees for chins is the most stupid thing I have ever heard of, for all the reasons kingsboro noted.

Answer:
I have heard of people sharing chins, putting them together (properly) in order to get babies from chins that they can't buy but want genetics from. They then share the babies from these matings. It is a pretty common practice and I agree with that. As long as proper introductions are done, both parties are fully aware of the risks/consequences/end results, so be it. But auctioning of stud services of a rescue chin, that's a new one, lol.

Answer:
gosh that is so stupid. Some people must be born without a brain to even think this is acceptable breeding practices
