my cages Kevin built.
Question: Okay I had mentioned that I would posts these pics again, so here they are. Kevin built Dusty a brand new cage today and I have to get pics. It is awesome. Anyway here they are. Oh Mods if this is not the right place for these please by all means move this thread. Cheryl Answer: Another. My cages seem to change alot now, but Kevin is making them a bit bigger and a bit better. I am always finding new designs for him and it gives him something to do. Cheryl Answer: Right now the chins are not stacked like this cause we have less of them, but you get the idea. I like my cages and they have plenty of room to run around. Cheryl Answer: Those really do look nice, a wall of chinnies Answer: He he thanks Christy. They were wall to wall and back again. All sides but the window side when covered. It was kinda nice though, I really miss them. Cheryl Answer: what do you use for the bottom of your cages? Answer: Kevin uses press board. Very easy to clean. I scoop out the shavings and then wipe them down with a wash cloth. Presto clean cages. I do have to do this once a week for sure if there is one chinny twice if there are 2 cause I do not want the bottoms getting wet. If by chance they do say the water leaks or something, Kevin changes the boards. He does that to the shelves too as they eat the pine alot. They are cheap to make too. The materials and all, the whole cage costs you about 50.00. Cheryl Answer: those are great cages..................wish i could build like that Answer: Thanks Linus they are very easy to build. Well Kevin says so anyway. I made a mistake Christy. Kevin used OBS board on the bottom not press board. Cheryl Answer: Those look like awesome cages! My fiance had built a wooden cage for my rats and I have found that they like to pee the most on the wood and it all soaks in and the entire cage stinks now no matter what I do to clean it. How does Kevin build the cages so he can replace the wood when needed? Really awesome cages and I am sure your chinnies appreciate them too! Thanks for sharing!
