Eating Hay!!! Dumping pellets!!!
Question: Now that bf has knocked off the treats & Cub gets one or 2 a night from me alone, she is EATING HAY!!!! A handful a night of local mixed grass hay from Petstuff on the Go!!! She has also started dumping her pellets however... Answer: That's great! Well, not about the dumping of the pellets part though... Answer: I have heard that as long as they are eating a handful of hay a day, not to worry. She is still eating some pellets but basically I just think she is saying "I hate Mazuri" , we are down to almost the last of it. I place my Oxbow order very soon but not until I buy my textbooks, lol. Answer: Neuro, have you considered the pellets that were discussed in the Canadian thread? They would probably be cheaper for you and the ingredients look great! I think that over a long period, a chin would get sick without eating pellets. They have essential nutrients that they cannot get from hay...otherwise everyone would be feeding just hay. It's great news to hear that she's eating hay! Answer: I'm glad that Cub is eating hay, and I'm sure he'll start eating pellets soon when the hay becomes too boring just by itself. Answer: glad to ear she is eating hay.............i don't blame her for not wanting to eat her pellets though,.............i wouldn't either...they sure don't look very appetizing????????????linus has periods where she eats hay and no pellets and then periods where she eats pellets and no hay....i don;t worry, she seems to have her diet under control.........she has a body that is to die for with lots of rounded curves Answer: Thanks folks. Tonight she grabbed the bowl & THREW it. I think it's time for a giant guinea pig style bowl, although that means she can sit in her pellets & crap & pee on them...... Don't think she'll eat them then...... Candace, those pelletys bear was describing sound great but they are out west & it's a fortune to ship from there. I generally order from Quebec. This time it will be Oxbow not Mazuri. After I get my disconnected phone reconnected & buy my textbooks..... Answer: Hmm, is the dish on the bottom of the cage? Do you have two really strong magnets? You could glue one magnet to the bottom of the dish, and then place the dish where you want it to be. Then put the other magnet under the cage to hold the dish in place. Would that help? Answer: Great idea. Answer: Wow Kreenish, that's a good idea. I have a chin that dumps the bowl over so maybe I'll try that. Im really glad cub is eating hay. That's soooo good.
