110 days
Question: tomorrow is 111 days of Livvies pregnancy. but the baby couldnt wait one more day. when I came home today I got a surprise!!!!!! a little tiny baby. dont know if its a girl or a boy yet. (think its a girl) it is 63 grams.. Im not sure if Livvie is wanting to be a mommie tho.. she barks at the baby and seems irritated that the baby wants to eat.. is this normal for a first time mommie? could it be because she is still pregnant?? and trying to have the other baby? I cant tell if she is still pregnant or not. but her belly still feels kind of hard.. not like Isabellas was when she had Gypsy. Im hoping that Livvie will be a good mommie and feed her baby. the baby looks healthy. I do have some kitty milk here and a syringe if I need it.. Im hoping that I wont tho. should I call the vet? is there any advice anyone can give me? has anyones chin done this with her baby??? Answer: Congratulations!!! I hope everything is ok, I don't know anything about pregnant chins Answer: thanks Lisa.. Im hoping it will be okay too. Im also kind of wondering if maybe she is just tired and cranky.. so when the baby trys to eat it hurts her or bothers her so she gets mad?!?!? either way I hope she gets over it and is a good mommie... Answer: Mom probably doesn't have milk yet, or like you said, she's still pregnant. Was the first kit dry when you got home? Palpate her tummy, it should feel very squishy and soft. If it doesn't and it's been more than a couple hours since the other baby was born, a vet trip is in order ASAP. If it is soft and she doesn't have another baby in there, she's probably huffy due to the baby biting her nipples. If you have any, you can give her some cranberry or apple juice diluted 50% to help keep her blood sugar up, keep her hydrated, and enable her milk to come in sooner. Answer: well she has nipples and a roundness there so I would have assumed that she had milk?!?!? or is it that her nipples just get bigger because she is pregnant. but doesnt mean that there is milk there. I felt her belly .. it doesnt feel soft.. but it doesnt feel to hard either. I cant feel if there is another baby in there either. yes the baby was dry when I got home and that was 2 hours ago. (so Im definately hoping there isnt another baby in there...) I will have to go to the store to get some cranberry juice.. unless cranapple is okay for her.. (which I would assume that it is?!?! since you said either apple or cranberry) and I also have apple/cherry.. thanks for your help Jade Answer: Check the sugar levels and additives. My absolute favorite to give is White House Premium apple juice. The ingeredients are literally Apple Juice, Vitamin C, and Calcium. That's it. See if you can 'milk' her. I was able to with Audi and her last litter. If so, baby's teeth may be too long. I know you can trim them, but I'd hesitate to do it if you've never done so. Answer: I have never done it... so I would be totally nervous to do it.. how in the world can their teeth get so long already?!?!?! hehe okay for the apple/cherry old orchard (says all natural) .. ingredients are: filtered water, high fructose corn syrup, apple and pear juice concentrates, cherry juice concentrate, aroma berry juice concentrate, natural flavors, citric acid, ascorbic acid (vitamin c) the other one is cran apple motts and it has: high fructose corn syrup, water, apple juice concentrate, citric acid, cranberry juice concentrate, natural flavors, ascorbic acid (vitamin c) red 40, blue 1 and how would I milk her to see if she has milk? the baby can latch on and make sucking sounds... and is able to find the nipple with no problem. they are actually being quiet right now. Im thinking they are both sleeping.. Answer: Give her some time. No offense, but constantly handling her and feeling her isn't the best thing to do. Mom needs rest and time to get aquainted with her baby and her milk also needs to come in. A 63 grams baby is a great size. Also, make sure you give pure apple juice. All that filler sugar, corn syrup, color, flavor stuff is NOT good for them. Just 100% juice. Vitamin A and C are bonuses. Good luck. Answer: The high fructose corn syrup is straight sugar. I'd see if you can find something else, if not small diluted doses should be ok of the motts. The aroma berry is unfamiliar to me so I'd hesitate on that one. When we needed milk samples from Audi (were afraid of mastitis) we just palpated the areola and then gently squeezed the nipple from base to tip and were able to get a couple of drops. If they're resting quietly, it may have been a case of new mom and over-protective grandma! Keep an eye on them - they may be just fine. Answer: First off, congrats Pam!! 63 grams is a great size for a little one. I'm glad that they seem to be fine now. Hazel did the same with both of her litters and both times it worried me. Usually the milk comes in within 24 hours. Copyright © 2007 - 2008 www.tendlife.com
