Welcome to www.tendlife.com !!!

I'm kind of bummed :(

Question:
It seems like most of my chins are overly aggressive and prefer being by themselves
Binky is almost 10 years old, and he's never ever been around another chin-he can't even have playtime with other chins
Piper-is gay and he always "goes after" other males. He doesn't get along with females either, apparently because he's a bigger queen than they are
Lily-just had kits, but I don't want her to ever have any more, so she's going to have to be by herself, she HATES other females
Riley-in his obnoxious teenage phase, making him VERY aggressive to other males, and really abrasive to females
Kirby-has never been away from his brother a day in his life, and lately he's gotten so mean, to where I wake up and find clumps of Chance's fur all over the cage...he never used to be this way
So now, I've got Azure (dad to the kits) in with Chance. They are in a huge cage, so they don't seem to interested in each other. I can still tell Chance isn't feeling well. His feelings are probably hurt because of what his brother did to him Hopefully I can keep them together forever. It would be nice to have father and son together. Kirby and Chance are his kids from a previous litter, born before I got them.
I've got Chyna and Jenna paired up, as always, and I think once the kits are weaned and a little older I might introduce both pairs and have them live in a group of 4. Chyna is REALLY laid back, and Jenna seems to be turning over a new leaf as far as her violence goes, so hopefully that will work out. She seemed really interested in the kits, and even kind of cuddled to Jubilee during playtime
I'm just depressed that I've got all these anti-social chins. Does anyone else have war stories like this? I mean, I know that chins can't always live together, but almost all of mine are like this

Answer:
LOL Welcome to the wonderful world of chinchillas! I dream of a world in which every chinchilla was sociable and you could just move them in with whomever you please!

Answer:
Is it common for them to just turn on each other when they've never had any problems before? I knew that some chins didn't get along...but it seems that I've got every unsociable chin in the south

Answer:
Not every unsociable chin in the south, some are here!

Answer:
Nice to know that mean southern chins aren't limited to my household

Answer:
Carla, it is so nice when chinnies get along peacefully isn't it? It makes things that much easier. I only have 9 chinnies but so far all of my chinnies seem to do well in the setup that I have. To give you a rundown....
Tweety (Delilah's daughter) gets along with any chinnie. I barely had to introduce Lexus to Tweety and they were living in the same cage.
Delilah lives with her daughter Noel. Delilah doesn't seem to mind males at all (she is a huge flirt) but can't stand other females. Noel, on the other hand, gets along peacefully with Lexus and Tweety and can have playtimes together.
Danny and Sebastian (Danny and Tweety's son) live together peacefully. I put Sebastian in with Danny once he was weaned from Tweety. As for playtimes, I don't like having different males play together because they can get agressive.
Griffin and Baxter live together and there are times in which Griffin gets a bug up his arse and decides to chase Baxter all over the cage. It doesn't even have to be when my females are in heat. I think Baxter bothers Griffin because he loves to mount him and Griffin has to put him in his place. I have never witnessed Griffin getting hostile to the point where there were injuries involved. More of a 'who is the boss' situation.
Carla, what 4 chinnies are you planning on having live together?

Answer:
Chyna and Jenna (mosaic and violet girls) and the 2 new sapp kits, once they get big enough to live in that cage. And providing they get along of course. Chyna will get along with any chin, and Jenna gets along with younger females...so my expectations are realistic and I hope it will work out. You know, Jenna's even being nicer to me! I'll have to stop calling her the violent violet

Answer:
Carla,
That would be fantastic if you could get all 4 girls to live peacefully in one cage. Jenna seems to be making progress. That is wonderful! It must be great to see this side of her.

Answer:
I think she's growing out of that obnoxious teenage-phase. She's almost a year old now So I guess it's about time...
I let the girls have playtime with the twins...and they seemed to enjoy themselves. Chyna kind of just sniffed the baby and bounced off, but Jenna seemed really interested. She got really close to one of the twins to sniff, and then she just cuddled up to Jubilee I doubt she's got any motherly instincts, but that's as tender as I've ever seen her to any chin besides Chyna and the late Asia. I've got high hopes to make a quad out of them
I bet some people are like "4 females, oh my lord! They'll all kill each other!" But I really do have alot of faith in Chyna and Jenna, and I wouldn't put the twins at risk
