Question:
I can definitely tell the autumn season is here because my chins are eating me out of house and home! I can not fill their food bowls fast enough. During the summer, it took a few days for them to finish a bowl of food and now it takes less a day. I am putting 4 tablespoons of food in their bowls too.
Has anyone else noticed an increase in appetite with their chinchillas due to the season change?

oh yes,,same here, my chins are eating like crazy but they are also acting up and wont leave their dishes on their shelves

Brandy, I also noticed their behaviour is out of control! They are little maniacs and give me such a hard time in the morning when I clean their cages.

Same here!! They are eating everything known to man.. and flipping bowls over, barking at each other for the water bottles... LOL

My boys have just been packing it up on their hay, I've never seen them eat so much hay, they do finish their pellets rather quick as well.

What I find amazing is that they know there is a change in the season even though they are domesticated.
I love to see them eat so much.

It really shows how chinchillas have adapted to the domesticated life. I've also noticed towards spring/summer they shed like crazy, another weird observation eh?
