Michigan Chinchilla Show
Question: Hi everyone!! I wanted to make sure that everyone knew that there is a MCBA Chinchilla Show in Midland, Michigan on December 13th. Judging will start about 9:30. It is an optional claiming show, so there will be some animals for sale. If you've never been to a show, they are a lot of fun. You meet some super people and learn a lot about chins. Let me know if you have any questions. Becky Answer: Becky, I wish I could go but I don't think hubby will be up for another ride. I need to move closer! Answer: I'm telling you, someone needs to bring a chinchilla show closer to the West Coast ... and somewhere near the border!! Answer: I wish. Make sure to give us all the details when you get back Becky. And...welcome to the forum!! Answer: Becky, where is it going to be at?? I live in Michigan and would love to go to a show... what types of things do they show and do there? I know they show the animals.. but what else? Answer: This show is all live animals and the location is at the top post. Answer: It is in Midland, 8 miles or so east on Eastman, then south on Baker. It's easy to find. They will start grooming the chins around 7 am. Then, they will classify the animals (the light standards with the light, the medium with the medium, etc.). The show will start when classification is done. They'll bring up each class and the judges will talk it over and make their decisions. We'll take a break for lunch whenever the timing seems right and then the show will continue until it's finished. That's about it. There will be some animals for sale and if you want something specific, you can make arrangements ahead of time with one of the ranchers. We'll also have our calendars for sale and a 50/50 drawing. Becky Answer: cool.. Ill have to look into going to it!! thanks for the information!! Answer: Don't know if it helps far westerners much but there is an MCBA chapter starting in Iowa and I "think" I was told Oregon, but I will check into that for sure. The first meeting of the MCBA Iowa chapter will be in January and we are planning on having some shows, presentation by vets, grooming presentations, etc. I know that is a bit far for you guys to drive, but it is at least getting closer! Answer: Denise, wanna go together??? we could meet and drive together?? i sooo want to get to a show... just a thought.. KIm Copyright © 2007 - 2008 www.tendlife.com
