Guess What...

Question:
Well, I thought I would post a quick update. Tonight, well last night, was weights and when I got to the girls. Dew has gained a whopping 68g in a week!! Daisy has gained 12g. I don't know if I should be concerned with that much of a weight gain in such a short time..
They both eat tons, (they eat their hay like there's no tomorrow :P ) and since we've been letting them out for short run times they are full of spunk. Dew no longer barks at us when we open the door but practically flies into our arms.
They both absolutely LOVE taking a dustbath, though it was a good 3 days before they realized what it was. They would just climb in the house and sit there. I'm just glad to say that it has been a very quick and joyful turn around with these two and in an extremely short time. I don't think any new chin we've brought in has warmed up to either Tim nor I this fast.
I will try to get updated pictures of them up soon!!

Answer:
yayyy Tanya.. that is soooo awesome.. I know exactly how you feel... Will and Grace were living in such similiar conditions when I got them. I was so grossed out by how they were living that I was about to turn around and say no and leave them there.. but Im so glad I didnt... the dust bath house was left in there and yes.. poops were an inch thick too.. water bottle same way... and food.. I think they were being fed rat food. I asked her what kind she fed them.. she goes well what do you feed? I told her.. and she goes.. yeah thats what I feed too. the bedding was about 2-3 inches thick.. and was sooo soaked that it was just one big clump. and it stunk sooo bad.. I was surprised there werent maggots under it. the food dish was full to the top... but I could tell they werent eating it.. because it was covered in poop too. she stuffed haiwian bread thru the top holes.. there was old stale bread in there.. and they were nothing but fur and bones when I brought them home. now they are healthy and happy!!! they havent had any babies and I have had them for a year. so I think that maybe the conditions may have had something to do with it.. (unless one of them had been fixed)
Im glad there are those of us who care much more than the ones that had the chins previously!!!! way to go Tanya!!!!!!! Id love to see more pictures of them!!
