do all chins do this??
Question: Koke sleeps like this......... Is this normal........its really cute but odd Answer: Chins sleep in THE weirdest positions so it's probably normal for him! By the way, we have the same cage for our chinnies Answer: I have an idea for another cage.....like a bird cage prolly 3' x2' x3' without the legs to make it tall.....so I can make many places for him to climb and hide. A chin dreamhouse,lol.....but so far I havent found anything to even modify. Not sure where I got the idea, possibly from someone off here.......or somewhere on the net * oh and I dont know how he can sleep biting on those bars........usually he is grabbing them also with his paws........really cute but doesnt look comfy Answer: be careul with bird cages. I've seen some with sharp corners and edges that have caused chins to lose a limb. Make sure you inspect the cage from top to bottom for anythign like that Answer: thanks....I will make sure to inspect it well. I almost lost him to some kind of chest injury....still not sure what caused it. He was laying on our bed not moving and every now and then he stretch his front paws out like he was hurting........it was the saddest thing i saw........I thought for sure he was going to die.....and of course it was sat night ....ugh.....well anyway.......I numbed up the site....debrid it and put antibiotic oint on it.....fed him sugar water thru a syringe and two days later it was like nothing happened. My little guy recovered by some miracle........cause i sure didnt know what the h*** I was doing.......Im a people nurse....not a chin nurse.....lol Answer: hehehe are you sure it wasn't a seizure? I just lost a chin to epilepsy and that sounds like something she used to do during a seizure Answer: well i dont think so....but i could be wrong........he had a horrendous wound on his chest .....bleeding a bit...with a hard lump in it (like infection????) and everytime we moved him or touched it he would stretch out like that .....in pain. So I assume he was just in a great deal of pain. he wouldnt eat or drink or move.........i really thought i was gonna lose him Answer: ok it's not a seizure then if there was blood. hopefully he will be ok. Answer: ouch, poor baby and as for the sleeping position, one of my old chins (Tammy) used to sleep exactly like that. I'm not sure what the appeal was, but she really liked having a good piece of bar between her teeth Answer: Hehe, very cute One of my boys also likes to sleep with something in his mouth, a small stick or a piece of bedding.
