To much hay?
Question: My kids seem to be eating more hay lately which means they are eating less pellets. Should I limit their hay or doesn't it really matter? Answer: i wouldn't limit their hay..............for some reason chins seem to know just what they need Answer: I agree with Heidi. Hay is an essential part to a chinnie's diet and they should be able to eat as much of it as they want. Answer: they should be able to eat as much of it as they want Even if it means that they aren't eating pellets? Answer: yes i think so.............i think i might only be a temporary thing...........just watch and see...........if you were to cut back on the hay would they eat more pellets??????? Answer: Pocky chows down on his hay, and even tries to take some with him when he goes out to play. I think that the person who said chins seem to know what they need was absolutely right. Just keep an eye on it and if it starts to get really bad then maybe cut back a little?? That's my guess. Answer: Hmm I agree, I wouldn't cut back totally. Hay kept there digestive tract working. Answer: I made hay available to mine all the time in a hay hopper I attached to the outside of their cage. Some days they ate more and some days they ate less, so I also think they know how to regulate themselves. Are your boys still eating their pellets, Lisa? Answer: They're eating pellets, but not as much as I'd like them to. And they still have their hay... Answer: Do not cut back on their hay. They need to have it available at all times! It is even more important than the pellets are. I wouldn't worry unless they stopped eatin the hay too. They know what they need and the amount of pellets they eat usually fluctuates so I would just be sure they had plenty of hay as well as the pellets Copyright © 2007 - 2008 www.tendlife.com
