Found a plug!

Question:
Last night Roo and Nala mated and I was able to get the plug. I took a picture of it so if anyone had never seen one before you could see one.
I am hoping on april 28th we will have babies
However, in all the excitement I have a question too....Roo seems to have upset nala something terrible. He was on her all night (well for the 2 hours that we saw them) and we finally separated them b/c he seemed like he could go on for hours and she looked exhausted. I held her for 30mins in my lap and she didn't move...this is very abnormal for her. she didn't move from the house all night (no drinking) but I did give her a hay cube and she nibbled on that. this morning she still seemed upset and 'violated' and I am worried about her. Has anyone else seen a female after mating be very reclusive, and if so, how long does it last? with our other females, this never happened. she is not bleeding and it doesn't look like roo hurt her but maybe its something I can't see. she left a pile of poo under her where she slept last night so that system was working last night. Any advice would be greatly appreciated. thanks!

Answer:
Mating plugs are so cool! Thanks for posting that Amanda. I have never had my females react to mating the way Nala has. It could very well be that Roo simply wore out Nala in his mating efforts. You are very right, males are relentless in their efforts of mating. As long as she is producing fecal matter and drinking some water, she is okay.

Congrats, I can so hear the pitter patter of little chinnie feet in 111 days!
I have had two females react the same way as your Nala. I feel it is more out of exhaustion than anything else, and she will come around. this tends to happen more with agressive males (when breeding) and perhaps more docile females. I had one female ( first time in breeding too) take a few days to decide it was safe to come out and rejoin her mate once the threat of his persistence was over. She did sneak out for food and water though, but otherwise slept on her side in a corner on the floor of the cage. Poor thing, she looked exhausted. I am pretty sure though that she is pregnant, because that was a couple of months ago and I have not seen him behave that way since.

Thanks everyone! I just wanted to let you know that nala finally came around tonight and things are back to normal. Roo is running away from her now and she is active again. Roo is also very protective of her....while she was in the hut tonight, he was sleeping in front of her so I couldn't see her or touch her. He has always been a very doting mate and will make a wonderful father again....can't wait till april 28th...

Answer:
Amanda, so glad to hear that nala is back to herself.. she is a woman now!! Great pic of the plug.. would you mind if I used it for an example??
