Question:
Baby is eating pellets again...and chewing his cage up. I had to switch his food though. I decided to try a pellet that's thinner and so I ended up with L&M (yuck! I do pick out the treats) He's eating that and has kept his weight at 1 pound 4 oz. Everytime I try to put mazuri in the bowl he refuses to eat!

Duster, have you tried the pellets that Pam (in Aldergrove, BC) sells? They are widely used by ranchers and very high quality. Perhaps Baby will eat those?

I'm glad to hear that he's kept his weight. What has the vet said about all this?

The last I heard from the vet was before christmas. He said to keep up with the meds until he starts eating pellets (or enough hay)...and that he'd call me next week..and if i had any big probs to call him. I love my vet, but whenever he says he'll call me I know he won't.

Umm...yesterday I noticed that baby ate a whole TON of food. I'm low on the LM crap so I'll buy another bag and find something to try to wean him to. I haven't tried the stuff Pam has...I should've gotten a pound or two to sample when I bought the bottles in Nov.

Yeah I would recommend Pam's feed too. Much better than L&M.

duster, I would either call your vet and figure out what's going on or get a second opinion. If I remember right, your vet wasn't exactly diligent when Baby was more seriously sick. Maybe you should look around for another one? I'm sure that other members from BC could suggest some.
