Raisins toxic?

Question:
I was reading another forum and stumbled upon a thread regarding toxicity and ingestion of raisins. The following article pertains to dogs but a few people are saying they will no longer be giving their chins raisins because of this. Here is the article:

Answer:
Man, that's scary! I wonder what the effects are in chins

Answer:
Raisins do have a problem with dogs, but certainly not chins. Same as rats can tolerate chocolate but dogs can't. It's an entirely different species and people have been giving chins raisins for years with no problems. It's not something that worries me in the least.

Answer:
Yeah.. I agree with Jade... what's good for one species can be toxic for another... besides, if I get all paranoid and stop giving my chinnies raisins.. they'll disown me!

Answer:
Man, I didn't even think about their reaction-they'd all never look at me again
