Wellness Cat Food

Question:
Ok, Hank hasn't tasted it yet but I think I may have (on Banshee's recommendation) found the best cat food EVER!!
It is Wellness.
I bought 2 lbs of the Salmon, Turkey & Herring Oil dry formula ($17.99) & 10 cans @ $1.49 each: Sardines, Shrimp & Crab; Turkey & Salmon; Salmon & Trout; Turkey; & Chicken & Lobster.

This food has AMAZING ingredients & I can only hope that Hank loves it like I do!!

That's the website.

Answer:
I agree. Wellness is a good food.
There are a few complaints that I have though. First, I could not feed this to Syd because of the high magnesium content of the fish. Secondly, I am not sure about the "kitchen sink" effect in the foods (is it a play on the owner?) and third, Wellness uses whitefish as an ingredient in many of their forumulas. Whitefish is currently undefined by the AAFCO and could include one or more of several fish of the same family. I would prefer that the fish is named.

Answer:
I think the whitefiish issue has been cleared up: all of this food purchased today names species of whitefish.
Yes, I can see if you had a cat w/ a need for super-low magnesium it might be too high in that nutrient, but I'm not really worried about Hank in that regard.
Are you still feeding Innova Candice?

Answer:
Nope, Max decided that he didn't like Innova...and Felidae. He's eating Go! Natural right now and Syd is still on the prescription stuff.

Answer:
Haven't seen Go! Natural before... Yes, that prescription stuff is pretty bad...
Hank stopped eating Felidae & Innova too, & this week she decided she no longer like Precise's Mixed Grill flavour.
Is there anything you can do to stop them getting so choosy?

Answer:
I've never seen Go! Natural either, but I'd like to give it a go. I must ask at Best Friends next time I'm there, and see if they order some in.
Wellness is an awesome food, and if I had more money or fewer cats I'd keep buying it. But with four cats, I had to go with the less expensive Innova California Natural (which is still an awesome food ).
Neuro, Hank will go nuts over the Wellness tinned -- my guys love it, especially the turkey & lobster

Answer:
I can see why Wellness is to pricey to feed for cats Banshee!!!

Answer:
My cats weren't crazy about the Wellness tins...I think it was the texture. They like really soft food, like Precise. They still ate them though...just with less enthusiasm.
Go! Natural got some bad press awhile ago because of a recall they had on a certain batch of dog food. That is how I first heard of them.

The recall was from one of the American plants and only on one batch of dog food. I did my research and decided that is was a safe feed. The ingredients are great and it's a Canadian product. Better yet, it is quite affordable.
Here is a link to the ingredients.

Mine didn't like Wellness either (canned)... they also don't like California Natural or Innova or the Nutro gourmet food...
Right now they're eating Nutro Natural Choice canned & dry... so far, so good
