Anyone know how to get cat pee out of a boot?

Question:
Argh...I discovered that someone (read: Aoife) peed in one of my favourite pairs of boots! They do this from time to time -- if they smell a strange cat on something, be it clothing, backpacks, etc., herself and Hamish will pee on it. Not all the time, just the odd time, really. And they haven't done it in a long time. But now...I've tried washing the boot but I can't get the smell out and am concerned that if I try to wear the boots and my foot gets warm, well...it won't be pleasant I've got a cleaner I used on the carpets when Fionagh was messing, but footwear is totally different.
Has anyone ever successfully gotten the smell of cat pee out of clothes or footwear? If so, how did you do it? I've resigned myself to the fact that I'll never be able to wear them again, but it would be a pleasant surprise if someone on here had a success story.

Answer:
have you tried Nature's Miracle? that stuff gets stains and odour out of anything.

Answer:
what about vinegar?

Answer:
Natures Miracle worked wonders on our basement (clothes and various other stuff that was being stored that had been peed on)

Answer:
When Oliver was a tiny baby he peed on Mike's pants (Mike was a little miffed but that was the first Oliver peed on his his own, hooray!) and I was able to wash it with detergent.
But a full grown cat has more pee so I guess I have nothing to add.
Sorry.

Answer:
Ditto for Nature's Miracle!!

Answer:
Very cool! Thanks everyone! I'll have to track down where I can find a bottle of Nature's Miracle now
I just hope I haven't complicated things by trying to wash the boot...

Answer:
um- burn it? :P Cat pee is pretty strong. Booger will pee on stuff when she's miffed- I think she thinks everyone else should be mad, too- if it's washable, it goes in the washer in hot water with vinegar and detergent (unless it's bleachable) and sometimes washed two or three times. If it's NOT washable, it goes to the landfill. I sent my best suitcase to the dump last week- of course, it had been in the closet forever and no idea how long ago OR WHY!!!! she peed on it. No doubt some other critter was laying where she wanted to lay or some other such divasode.
