Difference in Destructiveness?
Question: LOL! I couldn't think of a better title... From day one, I noticed that my girls are MUCH more destructive than the boys. For example, when Ticketyboo's toys arrived, I gave them each one and the girls had several blocks destroyed before I can see any visible damage on the boys' toy. The girls' toy now has more blocks missing than are present and the boys still have all of their blocks intact. The girls also chew their shelves a lot more. The boys usually round the corners off and leave it at that...the girls seem to "design" the shelves so that they are more comfortable to sleep on (Zoya chew a chunk out of the shelf for her head to hang over). Do multiple chin owners notice a difference in individual chins? By gender? Answer: Oddly enough, I have noticed much of the same thing. Our two girls together attacked a little ladder I gave them and had most of the rungs chewed off in days, so I had to remove it. Fixed up, the three boys together made a few minor chews on it, as if in exploration only. Answer: That is so strange. I could see that maybe pregnant females would be more destructive...but mine aren't pregnant. Answer: Mine aren't pregnant either. Ah, I hear the call of a government grant to study this pattern...there must be some way I could con, I mean, uh, convince, Sophie to head up a government research project into this area! Answer: Hmmm, I have some females that destroy everything, but I also have a few males that are just as bad (water bottles mostly). If I buy glass bottles or use bottle guards, the destructive ones will destroy the nozzle. Leroy took his hanging chew toy, a big one, and devoured it overnight (looked like we had termites ) Answer: Originally Posted by kreenish Mine aren't pregnant either. How's the pay? I've seen such a difference in destruction between the girls and the peanuts Jigsaw and Calypso chew on things but hardly destroy anything. I can keep toys, shelves and whatever else for months and even years without them needing repair. The peanuts on the other hand are in the process of even chewing themselves out of the cage I put in one of pam's hanging toys last week hoping it might distract them but the toy has already been chewed to smithereens as well They've also completely destroyed thelink-n-lodge house I had given them and have managed to put chew marks on the pvc pipe I had. As for chubes, they love sleeping in them but have gone through almost 3 of them since they arrived at our place almost 2 months ago. Silly peanuts....We were thinking of changing their names to bulldozer and destructo. Answer: My chinnies have an individual destructivness pattern. I think out of all my chinnies, Noel is the most destructive. Delilah is right behind her (like mother like daughter). Tweety and Lexus don't chew on anything but apple branches. They are the biggest couch potatoes I have ever seen in a chinnie! Out of all my boys, Baxter and Sebastian are my most destructive chinnies. Great thread Candice! Answer: My pregnant girls usually are destructive, but only when pregnant. Our biggest destro's are the brothers, Boomer and Joey. they will eat through anything...metal wheels, anything wood, ok, anything that gets in their way. they probably have the best filed teeth in my herd Their father Cotton also will chew through metal so I guess the boys did not fall far from the tree Answer: I haven't notice a difference but I think I will start watching. Answer: My most destructive chin is Puff, a male. He'll put a dent in anything. After that they are about the same. Copyright © 2007 - 2008 www.tendlife.com
