I think I have heard black velvets referred to as monkey face before. Not sure where I saw the ad, I think when chinworld had their classifieds, and the picture had been of a black velvet, and the ad said monkey face.
The sanctuary once got a rescue in that looked like Cooney, but she died shortly after she got there. I think they were sending her body off to find out if anyone knew what she really was, but to me, she just looked like a mosaic with strange markings, but her pedigree had no white in the background, very bizarre.
