Too Many Pets?

Question:
Hi everyone, I have such a zoo at my house! Let me know if you think I have to many animals!
I have 25 guinea pigs, first my females:
Gracie, Chloe, Belle, Harmony, Marshmallow, Mimi, Satine, Oreo, Shakira, Butter, Mya, Mandy, Paris
And now the males:
Tomyron, Tyrese, Kovu, Zeb, Cashmere, Chandler, Rex, Ember, Brady, Isaiha, Diego, Bandit
I also have six chinnies:
Valentine, Brooke, Bailey, Peeper, Miko, and Whiskars
As well as a few others:
1 gerbil named Fresco
and two dogs:
my female sheltie Shauna
and my pomeranian Toquito
and two male budgies: Chico and Cosmo
Keep in mind that all the guinea pigs are my mom's and she looks after them. And I have help with the dogs. So all I have is 6 chinnies, 2 budgies, and a gerbil.
I have to get some more chin cages built so I can buy a couple more, plus the fact that i'm expecting kits soon
Also, I have a question. Can you have one ferret alone, or are they happier in pairs? I would probably get two anyways from a shelter How big should a ferret cage be for two? I would imagine the same as a chin cage. Any help is appreciated

Answer:
Definitely two ferrets are better.
You have too many animals if you can't provide them with proper veterinary care when needed. Also if you can't keep up with their individual attention, cleaning and feeding, you have too many animals.

Answer:
Having too many pets is an individual thing. I know a lot of people with even more pets than you have and they manage perfectly fine. Their pets are well taken care of, physically and emotionally. However, I also know some people who can't even take care of one pet.

Answer:
We're selling some of our g/p, we would like to get down to about 5-10. Only if we can find good homes for them though. It is hard to pick and choose with the gp because most of them are our babies. I like my chins better than the gp, they seem alot smarter, lol. Plus the fact that they are cleaner.

I think this is a very good point.

Answer:
Like the points already mentioned, too many is really a case by case basis. If you can;t provide EVERYTHING they need (not just physical either) then you have too many.

Answer:
That is one of the reasons we're selling some guinea pigs. A couple months ago, one of our most gorgeous males was really sick and bleeding all over that cage, so we took him to the vet. They weren't quite sure what was wrong with him. So it cost us $180 just to get him looked at and antibiotics! he is fine now We didn't want him to suffer so we considered having him euthanized, but that ws $165, so we took our chances with the antibiotics. Needless to say, he won't be one of the ones we're selling lmao

Answer:
Nope, doesn't sound like you have to many animals. Ferrets, I believe are better in pairs, but if you just get one (like I have) they are just as playfull when you take them out of the cage to play, but just remember, ferret math will get to you if you only get one, you will end up with three then 5 then 10 and so on. *lol* I am thinking about getting another ferret for my ferret (Fuzzball). I have 1 chinchilla, 1 ferret, 1 cat (that just had 7 kittens), 10 freshwater fish, and a saltwater aquarium with all types of fish, 2 sons (young 23 months and 8 months), and a husband. So, I don't think you have to many at all. Later on I may even get a few more chinnies.
