Half-purebreds?
Question: Almost everyone I know w/ a cat says it is "half-" something: Siamese, Persian, Turkish Angora, etc. I want to know, who is breeding their purebreds w/ non-pedigreed cats to produce these litters of kittens, who almost invariably are given away & seldom resemble the supposed purebred heritage? I think some people say their cat is part-purebred to make it sound more special, but I don't think it's needed, as every cat is special, pedigree or no. Answer: I always say my cat is a Calico/Tortie but I definitely don't mean it literally because honestly, there is no way to tell exactly what she is. Answer: thanks ok candy cane since those terms only refer to color and not specific breeds Answer: Hehe, shows how much I know! Answer: That's funny While you've never come right out and said it, Candice, I got the impression that you were relatively knowledgeable (if modest) and now it doesn't seem like you know everything anymore That's ok, we still love you, even if you don't know everything Answer: That's too cute! But I must say, she should be one or the other. Calico - black, orange & white. Tortoiseshell - Black/Brown & orange( no white). Also Torbie - Calico colouring with tabby stripes. I never understood why people say that their cats are "half this". But I guess it helps if you're describing them. Other then that, makes no sense to me. Mine are all pure breed mogies !!! Answer: That's ok, we still love you, even if you don't know everything That couldn't be further from the truth! It's nice to know that it sounds like I know what I'm talking about. Lixx...have you seen my cat? What would you call her? Answer: Nope, haven't seen her. Is she in a thread nearby? Answer: Hang on...
