my spoiled cats
Question: i went to wal-mart today to pick up cat litter and a few other things and, as usual, i cruised the kitty section for toys and treats. i picked up a couple of packs of treats and a couple of cans of wet food for treat and a couple of packs of the new friskies cutlets things...just for a fun treat for them, like i said. i also bought a big pack of fun stuff, it had a mixed assortment of balls and some stuftues as well. after that, we went to our local pet store and i bought some smal crinkle sounding toys for trey, the crinkle meister. then we stopped at a local consignment shop on th way to my house. there i came across a whole pet section where someone had turned in a ton of pet things. i got a brand new looking carpet covered delux scratching post with the ball on the spring, a ball on a springy rope hanging off one side, and a string with a stuftie hanging off the other side-FOR $5!!!!! i also got little pet bandanas for a dollar a piece with the tags still on them-i hope i can get them to leave them alone long enough for a silly picture or two! lol. i also bought a minivac to help with litter messes. deshie is a gopher when it comes to burying her waste. when i got home, i started picking up all their toys and putting in their basket...they wouldn't all fit! they have, at this count....32 balls of different types, 12 mice of diff types, 7 different stufties, thier scratching post, 3 fishing lure type toys, a interactive glove toy with pom poms on it, an electronic wobble ball, a battery powered hedgehog bouncy ball, a couple of small blankies, a few pillows, some hairties, 2 crinkly baby toys, 3 crinkly cat toys, 2 cat tunnels, and a shelf system that has been converted into hidey beds for them. did i mention i have only had cats since i got deshie at the end of september. i got cy and trey in november and dusty in december. so, i have accumulated all this stuff in basically 4 months. man, my cats are spoiled. sheesh!!! Answer: I would say they are spoiled,,,,but very lucky Answer: We have three tubs of toys that we rotate with our cats. I haven't bought new toys for a little while because they would rather play with paper balls and pens. They do like their furry mice though. They like the crinkle balls too but Max tries to eat them so they only get them when they are strictly supervised. Where did you get the fishing rod toys? I have been looking everywhere for one. Answer: LOL! I try to accumulate toys, but I have a very destrutive puppy who LOVES cat toys We go through so many!!!!( BTW if you're getting a fishing rod I highly suggest the wooden ones as my cats have broken EVERY plastic one I've tried!) Answer: I found a catnip and honeysuckle ball frozen in the snow a few weeks ago. I wonder who that would have been? Answer: HAHAHA! Answer: i got the fishing rod type toys at our MFA for 2.79 a pice, however, if you want a high stamina one with a lot of versatility. go to wallyworld or whatever and buy one of the cheap kids fishing rods and replace the fishing line with much thicker string and not quite as much and then change the toy that you tie on from time to time. you can cast it much farther, cahnge the toy for variety, and they are way sturdier than the ones you buy at the stre. may cost a couple of bucks more than the ones you get at petco and petsmart...but they last forever and have much more potential!! here's anotehr good kitty thing to help with hairbalss....get a small to medium kong ball and put peanut butter in it and fr4eze it. then elt the cat have it. they love them, once they figure out the peanut butter thing, and it helps with the hairballs!! plus, they work for the peanut butter and it can be quite playful fo them! Answer: well, i went out to get a few things today, and while stroling through dollar general store, i looked down and saw the plastic leis that you use for party favors at parties. i bought a pack of three for $1 and brought them home to the kittens. they love them! as i type, trey is asleep with a purple lei over his head and around one paw and an orange one between his paws. the ink one that deshie had is now peeking out of my underwear drawer, where she tends to go to hide. i also had to find something bigger to hold all their toys. i want4ed something flat bottomed, fairly heavy, and low sided so they could get to their toys. i ended up getting an ice holder, the kind for and electric ice maker, at a thrift store. and the darn thing is not big enough! it could hold a family pack of burger, but not the kitties toys, ooooooh, no, of course not!! and dusty rose, my svery dark seal point siamese girl, got a new collor. one of my sats had to go to the vet today, and i saw a new trey of collars and leads being set out, so i was browsing out fo bredom. there was a small collar that was maroon with a, yes, dusty rose colored border, and little dusty rose colored flowers down the center. very very beautiful! i got it for her and it looks splendid on her cafe aulait neck!! i put her bell and tag on it and put it on and she preend and jingled and settled it and then forgot about it. i guess thats a two paws up approval! lol -angela if you are interested in seeing what dusty's new collar loos like.... http://www.lupinepet.com/cat/index.html the one called cherry blossom, but the pic does not do it justice. my digi cam is acting wacky, or i would send a pic! Answer: That is a really pretty collar! Sounds like your cats have enough toys to last several lifetimes What lucky kitties!
