could it be?
Question: ok, so when we moved in here we got a puppy and a kitten..that was about three years ago, they were great, and got along famously. we felt good that we had adopted them from the humane society and loved them to pieces. well, it turned out that liberty, our puppy, was a bit over protective of my kids, and the neighborhood kids didn't know how to approach a dog properly, and one little boy got bitten (one nip right on the calf, but it broke the skin and his parents rushed him to the emergency room where they put a band-aid on it) but it was enough to scare me into returning him to the humane society (when we adopted there was a clause in the adoption that if we could not keep him for ANY reason, he was to go back to the humane society) mainly because i didn't want any one else getting hurt, plus it could look really bad on my husband's service record (yes, the military can be sticky about such things) ok well after that incident we went on vacation, came back, and that's when we got Lucy, who was supposed to be an over-weeekend transport, which turned into a foster till she got heartworm treatment and now looks like she just might be a permanent family member...when lucy got here, pepper, our cat, decided that was enough and took off...breaking our hearts but we could find her nowhere now, here it is a year later, and we walked to the park..and there's this meowing from under a trailer where the maintenence people stay...well, of course ever since pepper ran away every time we see a cat we first think "what if it's her!" well, we go over and this little kitty is meowing and in the dark i can just make out her face and chest...hmm..black with a white chest...white booties on front feet..hmm... so we go around back where we can coax her out and as she comes out we notice that she's got a lighter colored undercoat, with black outer coat and guard hairs...just like pepper, giving her a smokey black appearance...with striking white whiskers on a black face... she's the right size, shape, color...the only thing is i *think* that pepper had a white chin and lower lip, and this kitty does not..but we took her in anyways and will be taking her to the vet (or humane society, not sure which will be easier) to get her id checked...we had both pepper and liberty microchipped and both had humane society tattoos... it's just amazing to me that this might even be possible..that she could show up like this after a full year..and i have my fingers crossed that it *IS* her...and if it isn't i may not tell Greg (hubby)..i may just let him believe it is our pepper (we have a better chance of him letting us keep her that way) Answer: do you have any pics of pepper? that way you could do a comparison Answer: unfortunately, we don't our digi camera pooped out on us and we are horrible with getting film developed (seriously i have rolls of film from when my 4 year old was born that we have yet to drop off... ) plus, i kinda don't want to know if it's not her, ya know? lol Answer: Yes.. it's very possible that it's her... I've re-united cats that have been lost for much longer than that. If she's tattoo'd.. then it wouldn't be too hard to tell if its her or not.. Does this cat have a tattoo or not? Answer: That would be wonderful. I can understand your apprehension but I do hope it's her. Answer: I hope it is Pepper! If not, though, sounds like you've got yourself a sweet little kitty Answer: I hope it is her!! Answer: omg guys... mom reminded me this morning, that pepper had a small hernia from her spaying..just a couple of little bubbles right on her belly where the scar is...so i thought hmm..the odds of a cat, female, same markings, same size..with the hernia? impossible.. so i grabbed her, checked her belly...and she's got two little bubbles right on her belly!!! IT'S HER!!!! i can't believe it! i have felt SO Guilty for her running away, like i was a horrible mom for letting her get away..that to be given another chance with her...it's just...oh my gosh! ok i'm going to go cry now lmao Answer: YEAH!!!!!!!!!!!!! That's wonderful!!!!! I am so happy for you!!!!! Answer: Does she have a tattoo?? Wouldn't that be the simplest way to tell for sure?? Copyright © 2007 - 2008 www.tendlife.com
