Time Alone

Question:
Poor Hank. I am spending so much time in the city, & she is only seeing me 3 days a week. We take long walks, sleep together, play, etc. but I still feel incredibly guilty, although ratlady does drop in on average 2x a week to visit her.
It looks like I amy be spending even MORE time in the city now, & I don't know what to do w/ her. I am more than happy to continue paying for a petsitter, but I don't think that's the ideal situation.
Most of the week she is in the apt. w/ only Haley for company.
BF does not want her back in his Hfx apt.- there's no room, the fur gets all over the place inc. his work clothes, & Hank does not like him.
I don't really know of anywhere else to put her in Hfx- all my friends & relatives either have pets themselves & can't take more, even if I pay them, or they hate cats (-that would be my relatives. I would never have a friend who hates cats!!)
Any ideas welcome.

Answer:
I would definitely talk to your boyfriend again. Even if you made some of the apartment off-limits to her...then she wouldn't have to interact with your boyfriend and maybe wouldn't have fur everywhere. Fur on clothes, IMHO, isn't a big deal. I have to dress professional for work and just use a lint roller to take the fur off (it's impossible to NOT get fur on my clothes).

Answer:
I agree with Candice you and BF need to have a talk, if your living there more than your own place your pets need to be with you and he needs to accept that. He dosent have to like her but tolerating her should be a must. My hubby is NOT a cat person, but guess who's now living in our basement family room, and rules the roost Preciouse. Set up a boundry system, shes allowed in certain rooms but not in others.

Answer:
Neuro.. I wish I had some ideas for you.... is there any chance that you could move to the city?? then you could just bring her there?!?!?!!?

Answer:
I'll talk to bf about it, but he & Hank really don't get along.
Since I will actually be sleeping @ the radio station, there would not be much advantage to putting Hank @ bf's anyway....
I don't think Hank could live @ the station.
What I am going to do in the meantime is just keep ratlady dropping in. There isn't really very much else I can do.

Answer:
Why don't you move into the City if you spend more time there? Makes sense of me.. you're always travelling there for hospital appointments, volunteer radio station etc.. Are the 3 days that you spend at your current place always the same 3 days? (weekends for example?) Maybe you could just rent a room in the Valley on weekends..

Answer:
The only thing keeping me here is my weekend job & the fact that it's the only place I can keep my furniture!!

Answer:
& the fact that it's the only place I can keep my furniture!!
What do you mean? If you rent an apartment in the City.. you'd keep it in the new apartment..

Answer:
Good point.... I guess I was just thinking I'd move in w/ bf, & there's no room there.

Answer:
I am now thinking very seriously about moving to Eastern Passage, where the station I will be doing the morning show @ is, & getting a place where Hank, the gp's, Haley & a new chin can live together. I would give up the place in the Valley & see if I could sleep on the couch of a coworker I like who lives minutes away from the station, although she may say no. Alternately, I could try sleeping in the Valley radio station, which likely wouldn';t go over too well if anyone knew, or asking ratlady if I could throw a sleeping bag on her floor & take a cab to the station (-a little risky, as Valley cabs are extremely unreliable).
I don't think I want to continue paying rent in the Valley & leaving poor Hank alone so much.
