*sniff* This is always hard.

Question:
Tomorrow I'm taking Mercedes and Kir to their new 'mom' and I'm getting choked up about it. She's wonderful and loves her chinnies dearly, but I'm going to really miss them.

Kir is my little spitfire, he's so darn hyper! But he's very curious and always comes over to groom my eyebrows and eyelashes when I open the cage. He'll sit with me for a few minutes when I get him out, then he's raring and ready to explore.

Here are a couple last pics of him:

Mercedes is my little baby. She was a total surprise and is just wonderful. We have conversations back and forth when I go into the room. I'll say her name and she'll squeak, then wait for me to talk, squeak again ... back and forth. It's so cute! She's always ready to come out and explore, or make a mad dash for the kitchen after jumping off the scale. She also dives for her shredded wheat like it's life or death, it's so comical! (the only treat I give chins under 6 mos)

Here's a pic taken last night:

And my favorite while she was here:

Answer:
Steph, isn't it so hard to give up those babies? They are both adorable and I can see why you will miss both of them. Is the new owner going to give you updates?

Answer:
I told her she had to, lest I hunt her down. She's a member on another forum and we talk pretty regularly, so I'll get to see them grow!

Answer:
That's great that you will be getting updates...it makes selling the a tiny bit easier.
They are both sweeties.

Answer:
Adorable chinnies Steph. Its amazing how attached we can get to these fuzzballs in such a short amount of time. I am so glad that you get to watch them grow up and get updates on them and you know they will be loved to pieces by their new mommy (most important).

Answer:
They're so beautiful!

Answer:
i am sad for you that you cannot keep them....mercedes looks like a real character :0)

Answer:
aww...... I could imagine that would be extremely hard.. Tony (my son) wanted to take Lucy (my newest baby) to his dads house with him.. and I just could not give her up!!
from your discription of Kirs personality that reminds me of Livvie... when I sit by her cage and get close to her she will groom my face.. eyebrows and nose mostly

Answer:
I'm Kir and Mercedes new mom! They are absolutely gorgeous and I love them already! Both of them have spent the past couple of hours checking out their new pads and just recently passed out! Kir is asleep in his Chin net and Mercedes is passed out in a PVC pipe. Too cute! I would get sleeping pics but my Hunny took the digital camera to work with him Here they are though...Pics taken shortly after getting home.
