So frustrated!

Question:
Well, we took Syd into the vet two weeks ago because we suspected that she had another bladder infection. My vet gave us Cefa-drops which seemed to help a bit but now she's back to not urinating very much. So, she's going into the office tomorrow to have a urine sample collected. We will be looking for crystals (again) and she may possibly need another ultrasound to see if there are any stones. I really wish it were easier to get into the ultrasounds here. The earliest I can get into any of the clinics is Thursday. I phoned all of the vets in the Yellow Pages and asked if they did ultrasounds and the ones that said they didn't, I would ask who they refer to. Can you believe that next Thursday is the earliest time?! I phoned one of the vets that we use (at the 24 clinic) and asked if he could fit us in any earlier. I hope that he'll call me back tonight or in the morning with a time. You see, Syd will have to be held for at least half a day at the vet to allow her bladder to fill enough to take a good sample. The same is needed (a full bladder) to get a good ultrasound. So...I was hoping to just get them both done at the same time. Even if there weren't crystals in the sample, it would be nice to get an ultrasound to ease our minds about the stones. I phoned another one of my vets for his opinion and he said it would be "more economical" for us to do the urinalysis and then go from there. WTF? Apparently he isn't considering the stress of having Syd locked in a cage at the vet on two different occasions. It really bugs me when they try to make things cheaper but end up wasting time. Phew, okay, I think I feel a bit better since getting that out.
So, wish us luck tomorrow. Hopefully we can get an ultrasound, and if not, hopefully the urinalysis will show something. Ugh, it was almost exactly a year ago that Syd got really sick.
