NCBC Chinchilla Show
Question: So, we leave tonight! We're taking Aero and Meridian with us, and we're hoping to learn a few new things. Perhaps, Tim may decide to come and update once he comes back, but after the show, my brother, mother and I are travelling ever northward to look at new homes and such. We should be back by the 10th of April, and if Tim hasn't updated then, I should be able to (possibly before that, but not 100% certain about internet access while I'm up there). Answer: Good luck! Have fun and take LOTS of pictures! Answer: Have a great time, Bex! Answer: Good Luck Bex! Where is it held? Answer: I hope we get a full report from everyone who goes. I so badly wanted to go, but transportation, finances and now babies to handfed put a stop to that. Carleen Answer: Yes, I hope everyone who was able to go is having a good time! Drat for this new job...*sigh* Have a safe trip! I've got one boy I'll be getting next month (May) who his owner brought along. I'm excited to hear how he does! Answer: Hey, I recognize that face! But I never got to meet you at the show, Bex! What a crazy day (to go along with a crazy week, month, etc.). The show was in Vernon. We stayed at a Bed & Breakfast on Friday night, arrived late on Saturday (couldn't miss the breakfast, you know), and had to leave early because we didn't want to pay for a second nights' accomodation (as nice as it would have been). So we missed the banquet last night, but we had lovely weather for driving home. Everyone else would be driving home today, I guess. I took Ophelia along and she won a first place ribbon (there were quite a few first place ribbons, though). I was quite proud of her, especially considering she was older than most of the other chins (she's 3 years, 2 and a half months), and also considering I didn't know anything about grooming and all she got was a quick comb from one of the ranchers there before they stuffed her in a cage. Apparently, I could have been combing her for weeks before-hand, and there were dirty spots on her ears and staining underneath her that I would have liked to address but didn't. Oh, well. The judge was going really easy on grooming and concentrating instead on conformation, size and fur quality. I also brought home a beautiful "1B" black velvet female. Haven't picked out a name, yet - I'll need to crack open my complete works of Shakespeare. Pam did REALLY well at the show. And that's all I'm going to say because I'm sure she'd like to brag about her babies herself.... I'm biting my tounge... Kristine Answer: Congratulations to both you and Ophelia, Kristine! Wow, a first place ribbon is a great first show! Let us know when you are ready to show off your new female, too. It sounds like you had a good time. Answer: First of all! I had a blast! I learned soooo much and am so glad I went. What a great experience. Now....the bragging part...lol...sorry but I just can't help myself! Emery my white ebony male took Colour Class Champion. Mercedes my homo ebony female took Reserve Colour Champion even though she is just 6 months old. Pip my tan white male took a 1st place. Sierra my tan white female took a 1st place. Sonora my homo ebny female took a 1st place. I came home with the Reserve Show Champion, a beautiful black velvet male bred by Blue Vale. He is just awesome. And a 1st place black velvet female also bred by Blue Vale. Kristine and Bex I have your ribbons and your cash prizes so you both will have to plan a visit real soon. Answer: Congrats everyone. Pam, are those all chins that you bred yourself? Sorry, I can never keep up. Copyright © 2007 - 2008 www.tendlife.com
