Answer:
In my opinion, I wouldn't use that cage as a permanent home - not even for just one chinchilla Once you put a hidey hut, food bowl, hay, water, and a few toys, the chin would have far too little space to bounce and play around.

Answer:
Just as a comparison, the standard cage that comes with a Hagen guinea pig started kit is 25 x 16.5 x 15" h. That cage has been deamed WAY too small for gp's by many people and is a bit bigger than the cage you are talking about. If it's too small for a gp then it's definitely too small for a chin.

The cage you are asking about would probably be better as a transportation cage.

Answer:
I would say one MAX.

Answer:
It looks really, really small. I'm with Sophie. I think that it's too small for even one chin.

Answer:
It would be much to small for even one chin, in my opinion.

Answer:
Would be okay as a cage for young kits, but would quickly be out grown. Certainy not something I'd invest in. You'd want something alot bigger.

Answer:
I personally wouldn't go any smaller than the "lodge" I have 2 of them here, and both only have one chin in each. My aunt bought the "lodge" with the slide out pan and I'm somewhat uncomfortable with the size of it, you lose like 2" or so on the bottom than with the drop in pan.

Answer:
I too wouldn't go any smaller then the lodge for 1 chin, 2 at the very most.

Answer:
I used to have one of the lodge cages, that is the smallest I would go. I had one chin there, I don't think I would have two in it though unless they were kits.
