Question:
ok..i was petting pepper the other day, she's black, sitting on our black sofa..and as i reached up and petted her head, one of her eyebrow whiskers fell off..just *ploop* dropped on the sofa (she has white whiskers, really funny looking)..it was much longer and thicker than her hair, so i know it was a whisker and not just a white hair

do cats shed their whiskers? she had 3 white eyebrow whiskers over each eye..now she has one over her left eye and one over her right. they aren't short, they're just totally gone! i haven't noticed her mouth whiskers missing, but there are more of them.

I'm sure they do. Once I moved into our new house I started finding whiskers here and there. I thought it was a big thick hair at first but then I examined his whiskers and it looked just like it. Now with two cats I seem to find them more often. I save them now...lol. I know...I'm weird.

My cats lose whiskers from time to time -- I find them on the furniture occasionally. But I think they grow back.

she got tortured yesterday, poor thing. alyssa turned 5 so we had a birthday party and one little boy would NOT leave the animals alone..smacking franco's cage till i actually had to YELL at him to stop...then chasing poor pepper through the house, she just couldn't find anywhere to hide. after it was all over, she sat on the back of the couch wtih this highly indignant expression, glaring at all of us for subjecting her to such childish behavior

I guess I'm weird too! I still have whiskers from my dearly departed cat Monte (he died 7 years ago).. and as we type, I have a whisker on my TV stand that appeared a week ago.. not sure which cat it belongs to but probably Wilson b/c he likes going up there and his brother doesn't..

yea, I have like 6 of them now. I would've had 10 but one of them threw them on the floor and I don't think I've found them yet. I probably will eventually though.
