I'm posting this for a friend...standard dad, white mosaic mom...one of the kits is gray with a white belly and white tail. Weird, right? What is it?

That would be a heavily marked mosaic

Mosaic....white tail is a great indication of this. The kit will probably lighten over time.

Sounds alot like a reverse mosaic ( predominantly grey rather than white), should be really interesting to see how this kit turns out. Should get some before and after pics, I bet in 6mths he won't even look like the same chinnie! lol

That is the truth! One of our first chinnies was a reverse and we got him at 8 weeks. I continued to send pics to our breeder but we didn't really notice what an amazing change until we went back through the pics a year later. She thought I had switched chins on her, he was so different. Thats one of my favorite things about mosaics...the surprise of what they will look like and Roo still continues to lighten and darken in different seasons.
