THE KITTENS ARE HERE!!
And they are absolutly ADORABLE!! I will post some pictures but the are so cute! She had 3 kittens, a black one, a grey one with white stripes and a black one with lots of tan stripes and tan paws. She seems to be doing wellmand she had them at about 3 am atlantic time last night! I am so relieved everything is ok. SHe is eatingand behaving normally YAY!! The kittens see m to be very healthy also!

Does anyone know how long it is until the kittens open their eyes or can be touched?? Because I have no idea. Also is there any specific types of cat food for nursing cat mommys?


Answer:
The kittens eyes open between 10-14 days old. As far as handling them.. I'd leave them be for a day or so to let Mom do her thing.. then you can handle them briefly.. depending on the Mom, your handling her babies may be stressful for her.. She'll let you know if she disapproves. You should avoid over-handling them though.. It's good for their socialization to get used to being picked up by humans but you don't want to over do it.
I've always fed kitten food to nursing Moms.. it's just the extra boost/calories that they need..

EYes usually open around 10 days. Our baby is 5 days today and already has both open partway- so really depends.

Handling the kittens really depends on the mother's reaction. Mainly, she's gonna get upset if they cry and you don't want to risk her moving them to where you can't find them. She'll likely let you hold them a second to check them over, though.

My vet recommended Hills (science diet) as it has immune boosters.

We have her in big covered kenel with lts of blankets and stuff. The babies are so cute, tis going to be so hard to give them away!!

Congrats. If you can afford it, I would go with a higher quality food, like Innova, Wellness, CSFTCLS, etc. Hills has a lot of filler and I think they still use by-products. I can't wait for the pictures!! Newborns always look like little sausage rolls.

Congrats for your kittens ! They must look sooo cute. I've always loved to hear the little cries they make. Makes me melt.

I've also adopted a cat who was born on the 25th of May and so she's really not big either. It's a shame I can't see her as the owner is in Belgium. I can't wait till he sends me the first pictures !!
