Answer:
Thanks for all the lovely comments! I only read a few to Titus as his head is getting big... :P

Back from Titus' first vet trip...
First, I got scolded for taking his bottles away. He wants me to continue to let him have the two bottles a day (where we have gotten with the weaning) and switch him to KMR weaning formula when our current supply is run out. He said to work on getting him to drink it from a bowl, but he didn't see a problem with him being on the bottle another 6wks- that he would nurse his mum that long if he could. At twelve weeks old, he said, we'd talk about cutting it down slowly. I tried to explain that I couldn't even get him to drink water from a bowl... and the vet says- it's cause he's still a baby. Let him be a baby.
BUT Titus was perfectly healthy and his fat belly is just fat and not a hernia like I worried it was. He also seemed to think his hearing was fine- said he must just be used to lots of noise. (ha ha)
And I also got a stern look about Titus' ear- told that he hopes I can keep him away from the rat cages in future...
And then I got told AGAIN it was best to let kittens nurse until they were 10-12 wks old...
So, we come home- Titus completely put out over the imposition and the seperation from his 'mums and dad' and hot and refusing to take any water... and ME with my tail between my legs- having been royally told off. He was right,of course, but still didn't like hearing it!
