Snowshoe's Home!

Question:
By a stroke of luck this boy came back to us today, looking a little dishevelled, but home nontheless.
I was talking on the phone to Linda a chinchilla friend this morning when she happened to mention that she had seen an ad in the paper for Snowshoe with cage and everything. I couldn't believe it and asked her for the phone number. I called them right then and there and told them I would buy him back.
Snowshoe was born here in August of last year to Sydnee, a gorgeous Blue Vale herd improvement Standard and Toby a TOV Pink White.
His owners said that they had moved into an Apartment in Chinatown and that they weren't allowed pets, so they had to sell him. I gladly handed over $150 to have my boy back where he belongs.
He doesn't look like he's had a dustbath in awhile and his fur is so incredibly thick,so he's going to get a daily dusting for a week or so.
I'm so glad my boy's home.

I remember Snowshoe! I'm glad you got him back.. He's still cute as ever.. I love the first pic!

Answer:
I remember snowshoe too! I'm so glad you got him back! Sounds like they weren't taking care of him as they should have been

Answer:
OMG, that was a close call, I know how frustrated I am when I find out that people that bought chins from me just turn around and sell them, without asking me to buy them back, and then I have no idea where they are. He is such a sweetie, and I am sure he will be happy to be home again.
I just took back one of my boys from a litter a couple of years ago. He was well cared for though, and I discussed with his owner at great length before taking him back, but she wanted to make room for some rescues, so it made sense. She is only the 2nd person ever to ask me to take one of my chins back (the other was Artemis, and she is here of course).
Anyways, it is just one of my pet peeves that I have, sorry for the rant.
Snowshoe is looking happy there

Answer:
Thank you! It was truly by sheer coincidence that I got him back, and Laurie I know how you feel. I'm glad you got one of yours back recently too. I had regretted selling him in the first place so to have him back now is a miracle, I cried when I realised he was coming home.... I know I'm a big SUCK!
Anyway we will have him looking as good as new and pampered as he should be. Thankfully he has retained his calm and gentle nature.

He's not going to know what he walked into, lucky little guy!

Answer:
Thanks Laurie He's already looking much better and cleaner after a couple of dustbaths. Lord knows how long it's been since he had one.

Aww...Carleen...I'm so glad you found him. I remember little Snowshoe too, not so little anymore! I know he will be so spoiled now he's back with you. Thank godness this story has a happy ending!

Answer:
Thanks Pam. At least I can say that they must have spent time with him because he's very social coming out on our laps and begging for treats. Maybe that's why he was so grimey, lots of handling, not enough dustbaths.

Answer:
Carleen, thank God you saw the ad and got your baby back! He is a really handsome chinnie. I have a feeling you will not be letting him out of your sight.
