More Affectionate...
Question: Last month I took a couple of days off and left Pickles with some friends. They took very good care of her for 4 days while I was gone. When I got home she was kinda mad at me, but now she's very affectionate. When she was small she used to sleep on me, beside me, ect. She stopped and did her own thing for a while. Slept near me, but not with me or on me. Right now she's drapped across my lap sleeping. I think maybe it's because I've had her since she was 5 weeks old had never left her alone longer than half a day... Answer: It sounds like she really missed you, and glad that you are home with her now Answer: I think so. I was gone a full day (Thursday night 8pm to Friday night 8pm) and I cleaned her litter and was walking to the dumpster and when I was near the door to come in, I see her in the window meowing her little heart out for me to come in. This morning I woke up and she was about 30 seconds away from giving me a charlie horse. It was around 1:30 or 2:30...I was a little fuzzy on the time (I get up at 3:30-4 am) and she is kneeding my legs but sucking on the blanket. So she's standing on me with her full weight, which isn't a whole lot cause she's not big for 5 months...and I can feel my calf muscle cramping up. Meanwhile she's "making out" with the fuzzy blanket, paws going full throttle. I had to nudge her off. I If you've never had a charlie horse...let me explain...basically lactic acid is pooling in your muscles. 2 things can bring on the charlie horse. Not enough electrolytes...if you're not getting your juice into you sort of thing. That can do it. And a blow to the leg (I once dreamed I got hit in the legs with a baseball bat and woke up with a charlie horse). The whole muscle seizes up tight, clenching and can stay like that for several minutes. I find it exhausting and makes it difficult to walk. Heck one night I got 3 in a row. First in the calf, then the calf and thigh, then the calf. So while I felt bad to push her off in the middle of her thing with the blanket (that I don't mind) I wasn't going to get a charlie horse.
