What is wrong with your chinnie? Your chinchilla may be feeling "down" because he or she is still not feeling well.

When mine was being a grumpy butt and acting generally depressed i'd sit with him out of the cage and let him use me as a climbing toy while I chatted to him. Sure, he doesn't listen, but it seems to cheer him up that he's getting so much attention! If your chinnie is just being gloomy maybe some extra attention and cuddles will help! That, and a new toy

I'd say treats, rubs, dust baths, apple branches & playtime. Also the sound of a vaccuum cleaner. All these things delight my chin when she's down.

Yes, a vacuum loving chinnie? That's just madness here Vacuums mean the end of the world to mine!! He does absolutely love the broom though.

I would say quite a few of our chinnies love the vacuum as well they bounce around and chatter, the others its oddly soothing to them.
Dust Baths...definately dust baths...you can just see the happiness as they roll around in the dust, I wish I could get that much pleasure out of a bath
Chin Scritches, full body rubs, Ear Scritches...depends on the chin...

Neuro and Tanya, it is funny you should bring up the vacuum cleaner. I often vacuum the shelves in their cages and the vacuum doesn't scare them one bit. Noel loves to stick her nose in the suction part! Of course the vacuum is on the outside of the cage and she is inside the cage.
My chinnies love having the air filter on and I usually leave the radio on for them during the day and tellie when I come home at night. They don't like it when it is too quiet.

Cub chases my bf's vaccuum cleaner & bounces on it & tries to put her face near the nozzle!!! I don't know what she thinks it is....
