Pickles, Pickles, Pickles
Question: I actually got to sleep in this morning...something I don't do unless it's a holiday or weekend since my job means I get up around 3:30-4 am. So this morning I had intended to only get up at 9 but I was lazy and stayed in bed an extra hour. Pickles was playing merrily with her toys and running around and such. I drifted in and out of sleep. So I get up at 10...what do I see but this big pile of barf. Couple of splatters here and there. When I was cleaning it up it seemed to me that it was just cat food. Didn't look like there was anything else in it, a hair or two...that sort of thing. So, this being her first time to get sick like that I was a bit worried. It was probably just her being a pig (cause this was a BIG pile for a cat her size) and then shaking her tummy around. It didn't smell really foul or anything. It was gross, don't get me wrong. But it didn't smell really bad. I didn't see blood or anything. Her poops and pee's seem fine in the litter tray. I guess I'm just wondering if I'm worrying for nothing. She'll be taking a trip to the vet to get fixed either at the end of this month or the start of next. I can't remember when she's due to be fixed... Answer: My cat has done that a few times and its always because shes eaten too fast. Almost all the food is still perfectly formed and their is no hair in it. We just put a golf ball in her food so she has to eat slower and no more problem. Of course its always good to get things checked out. Answer: I agree, she just ate too quickly.. I wouldn't worry about it unless it becomes a regular occurance or if she develops other symptoms such as diarrhea.. Answer: Phew. The only other thing I can think it MIGHT be about is I have an old fashioned tub and it's got no tile underneath of it. The people who lived here before, their cat sought refuge under there. But I didn't want Pickles to do that. So I took a shower curtain and taped it around the tub and then put vicks on it to keep her away. But she tore it down. So, I am going to keep the bathroom door shut until I can pick up some better tape and a new shower curtain. I feel bad for her though. It's the first time she's eaten that quick. Answer: my cats do that to its usualy when we change their food Answer: If it was just food that looked like it hadn't been chewed, it probably is just that she's eating too fast.
