Introducing males?

Question:
Is it hard to introduce Adult Males? I want to try with Tiki and Chilo, Tiki is almost two, and Chilo is almost three. I switched cages already but I dont think it will be the same as introducing Zen and Swiffer. Any advice? Any bad experiences? Any good ones?

Thanks guys!

Lacy

Answer:
It will be harder then young chins, but their is the possibility of success. What are their personalities like? If ones submissive and one dominant, or both submissive then it should work. But if both are dominant then it's more of a risk. Have you allowed them free time together outside of their cages? If not I would start off that way and gauge their reaction to each other.

I agree with Lixx, this is how I work with mine other then just setting their cages next to each other.

Answer:
Tiki is my mini man, he is really fiesty, he is very dominant. I'm not sure if Chilo is that dominant, but whenever I've let him sniff the other chins he wants nothing to do with them, its like he just doesn't care, hes not agressive he just wants to mind his own business. Chilo is really big compared to Tiki. Although since I've switched their cages Tiki has been alot friendlier, Chilo is the same though. Their cages have been side by side since I got Chilo, probably five months ago. I'll let them play together tonight.

Answer:
Ok they are playing together now, Tiki is definately the dominant one! Chilo is fairly submissive but he still wants to be boss!

Answer:
Keep an eye on them, let them have several nights out together. Once you see mutual grooming, you can try them together in a cage.

Thanks for the help!
