Melamine Cages
Question: I saw on CnQ that someone offers plans for these cages, and I saw the finished product Even hubby is enthralled-he loves them. So...my question is-do any of you have these? Or know where you could find the melamine? I'm guessing home depot-I want to build these so bad! Answer: Here are links to a few threads to get you started http://www.pets-on-the-net.com/forum...t=3675&start=0 http://www.pets-on-the-net.com/forum...t=3471&start=0 http://www.pets-on-the-net.com/forum...light=melamine http://www.pets-on-the-net.com/forum...light=melamine http://www.pets-on-the-net.com/forum...light=melamine http://www.pets-on-the-net.com/forum...light=melamine http://www.pets-on-the-net.com/forum...light=melamine http://www.pets-on-the-net.com/forum...light=melamine Answer: A FEW???? Answer: Sophie Answer: believe it or not but I found at least twice as many Answer: I'm already overwhelmed! Answer: Here's a picture of my new cage: http://www.pets-on-the-net.com/forum...396_x_477_.jpg It's more or less based on the ones that Kindra on CnQ makes. Answer: Yes! That is SO nice-where did you get the melamine? Answer: Home Depot. Pretty much everything for the cage was bought at Home Depot (my mom bought all of the supplies and my grandfather and stepdad built the cage for me for Christmas ). One word of warning, melamine is VERY heavy and from what I have heard, not the easiest stuff to cut. I know that a lot of people just get it cut at the store so that it is more manageable. Answer: Yeah, Home Depot will cut a certain number of cuts for free, then it's like $0.20 per cut after that, or so I've been told. Also, I'd recommend adding in a smaller side door or something. I have a melaming cage that cage with two chins, and the only way to open it is to open the entire front. That's not good when you've got two parens and two kits in there trying to get out when all you want to do is give them food : p Copyright © 2007 - 2008 www.tendlife.com
