wish to adopt a companion~

Question:
:BlkCat: Hi.. I'm lookin for dogs to adopt. I understand that livin in HDB flats, we only have limited to few kinds of dogs. I myself have 2 dogs at hm n we live only in HDB flats. Now i'm helpin a fren to adopt one n we're lookin for bigger dogs if possible. I had my 2 dogs for bout 8 years and they are still healthy n fine. I hope by this, u can understand or even trust that i know how to take care of dogs and definately am commited to them. This fren of mine lives near me, n i will be droppin by to help him n teach him all the time or even everyday. We live near the pasir ris beach, so as often we can stroll our dogs. So big dogs are definnately no problem.
:dogtongue:
:Woof: I hope, i can find a dog tt soon enuff. Anyone can help? Since it's the 1st dog for him, i hope it wun b a too old dog, erm.. like say below 5yrs age? Cuz he's very emotion on pets. Once adopted an old rabbit it died within 2 weeks. He was so upset that he din eat the whole day. I hope he will have a dog that dun die that fast n will b able to enjoy his life with his companion..
:cowhi: Wether it's a big or small dog that u have or wantin to gif away, if mail me at JuJu_2503@hotmail.com together with the dog pics that u wanted to gif away~ thx!!

Answer:
welcome to the forums Juju
good luck in finding a dog do you guys have shelters up there??

Answer:
Hi JuJu, I'm not sure how much help you can get here since there aren't many Singaporeans on the boards, mostly North Americans.
I know about the restrictions on big dogs in HDB (for those who don't know, it's Housing Development Board or government apartments in Singapore where residents are not allowed to have cats or big breeds of dogs) and you have to be careful with a big dog in HDB because they need a lot of exercise and if your neighbours are the 'kaypoh' kind and complain to the AVA then your friend will get into trouble. However, I think if you are going to help your friend and both of you are dedicated enough to take care of the dog then it shouldn't be a problem. Just be prepared for a lot of hard work!
Have you tried visiting www.doggiesite.com ? It's a dog forum in Singapore that will probably be able to help you a lot more.
Good luck in your search!

Answer:
thx for everythin.. includin the RUDE INSULTIN comments some ppl did..nvm.. well.. hard work is ok! i've 2 dogs at hone already. anyway, this is SINGAPORE! hope some of u is kind enough to understand we use "short forms" here! n is not tryin to talk like a 10yr old kid. SOme inconsiderate ppl~
OMG.. ppl in watever tt country is.

Answer:
ok~ next.. dun worry bout mi keepin big dogs.. my neighbours are fine with it cuz there are plenty of huge dogs strollin here.. Plenty!
Well..i've tried plenty of adoption sites, but there's alot of things to settle which we can't. For example we need a parent to sign up the whatever forms is there. But our parents are too buzy for that.. So only thing we could do is to adopt a dog from people who do not need to go through so much procedure~

Answer:
I thought the dog was for a friend??????
now your saying its for you

Answer:
JuJu, Singlish is very seldom seen or heard here so others might misunderstand what you are typing, so don't take offence lah!
So the dog will live with you and your friend will help you take care of it? Are the places to adopt you are talking about meaning the SPCA and ASD and places like that? A lot of them will have many questions to ask adopters and ask for a parent to sign just to be safe. There are also dogs for adoption up on Doggiesite Forums by individuals and I think most of them will also ask a lot of questions and will need parents consent to make sure your parents won't mind taking you to the vet and helping you to buy food, etc.
Have you checked www.doggiesite.com yet? Not many here can help you with adopting a dog 'cos most people on these forums are located in America or Canada, a bit hard (and expensive) to export a dog from here to Singapore

Answer:
well.. i'm adoptin a dog with a fren. N the dog will be stayin at my friend's place. Ok~ i'm too used to typing singlish. because here in singapore, causal chatting, we used singlish.

I'm adoptin WITH a friend. The dog will be stayin at my friend's house where i will be teachin and coachin him how to take care of it. He lives very near me. I have 2 dogs at home, but i just wanna do a part for the dogs and my friend was thinkin of gettin one. So i helped him out cuz he's a newbie~

Answer:
I'm glad you are going to help your friend take care of the dog since he is a newbie. Any luck with finding one in Singapore yet?

Answer:
Nope.. it's very difficult because there's alot of procedures that need to be done. I'm havin some difficulties in all those, example, gettin an adult who lives in the same household to sign the papers and stuff like that.. I've tried on many sites, lookin for adoption of dogs but still no luck~
