Question:
When Jack was little she stole shoes but I thought since she was older she wouldn't bother. I was late and running around looking for my shoes so finally I looked in there bed ... well I found my shoe but it was ripped to shreads. Jack steals EVERYTHING and runs around like a nut ball. The problem is she's so fast and she knows it. She steals what ever she can. I though she would grow out of it but I think they will act like puppies the rest of there life. They haven't mellowed out at all but I think that's the best part about them. I know a lot of people can't handle that about JRT's but I love it!!! It's so fun to watch them chase each other around the back yard and they run sooo fast. They are full of enery still and there 2 1/2 years old.

I don't think JRT's EVER slow down! That's just their personality trait... personally I couldn't live with a JRT.. too hyper for me. I like calm & quiet when I come home, probably b/c I have to listen to barking & meowing ALL day @ work.
Do your dogs like to fetch balls? My co-worker has a JRT and if you go over to her place, you are constantly throwing the tennis ball for him.. He never gets tired!

lol Courtney... I had a puppy that would steal.. ONLY the best shoes I had.. and tear them to shreds too... lol yeah... sounds like shes not growing out of it.. Im also wondering that maybe since you just moved that she took the shoe because it was something familiar to her.. since it had your smell on it...(peuwwwww!! lol) and it made her feel comfortable.. but who knows... I could be wrong and maybe she is just being a grown up puppy!!

Actually it's Rocky that is OBSESSED with balls ... tennis balls that is, LOL. I have literally spent hours throwing her the ball. If you go outside she put's it in your hand or face, anywhere and doesn't give up untiul you throw it. Jack tackles it from Rocky when I throw it but then Rocky get's mad. They are whirl winds of energy and they keep you going.
Maybe that's why Jack stole it, not sure but maybe it smelt bad, hehe. They were good shoes too!

All the 'good' shoes that I have are kept in the closet on shelves out of their reach so they can't steal them I leave my sneakers and sandals out 'cos I don't care if they chew on them, but Ally just likes stealing them, she doesn't chew on them.

My dog steals shoes too...he's a retriever. He doesn't ever chew them...just struts around the yard with them and brings them as presents.
