Dry Skin...
Question: I stopped at my Granny's last night after work and my cousins dog has some very dry skin on the inside of his back legs, kind of right where it somewhat connects to his belly. He is half pug/half miniature pinscher. She said he'd been licking at both spots quite a bit more than normal, and it was peeling on the one side. They've been putting a bit of vaseline temporarily. What else could help with this dry skin problem?? Answer: What about Bag Balm? It's used on farms for cows utters and can be used on all animals & humans.. My dog Kokoroo gets dry skin in the Winter (more just dandruff) and I use a medicated shampoo (Epi-soothe) and add drops of an oil (can't think of the name of it right now) to her food.. I've also added a pinch of ground flax to their dog food and it makes their fur very soft & shiny.. Answer: Ginger shampoos for humans are quite helpful as they sooth and give moisture. i use Back To Basics - Ginger shampoo on Daisy as she is proned to irritated skin. The groomer even recommended a ginger shampoo. It makes her fur nice and shiny and her skin feels better after. Answer: since we have a allergy prone dog, AND i just spent 76.00$ at the vet for him on monday. i would recommend giving the dog some benadryl, the vet said the safe dose is 1 mg per lb of aniimal. so joey is 50 lbs and would get 50 mg of benadryl we also have been using bag balm on joeys belly as he breaks out there as well as around his mouth and in his ears. the oil you can put in their food is fish oil. we have them in vitamin e drops we break open and spread on his food. hope it helps Answer: Thanks Everyone, I will pass on the advice...I didn't even think of Bag Balm sue...we have some somewhere around here....it's still in a box...haha Copyright © 2007 - 2008 www.tendlife.com
